KUALA LUMPUR: Former RNF MotoGP Team boss Datuk Razlan Razali has scrapped plans to start a new Moto3 outfit next year.
Razlan said he has decided to focus more on motorsports events consulting outside of Malaysia for now.
"After being based more in Malaysia over the past few months and looking at the whole scenario in motorsports at the moment, I have decided to reposition myself in consulting," said Razlan when met recently.
"I have decided not to move forward with Moto3 (team) and am looking at consultancy level work for MotoGP events for other countries.
"I am just not interested in running a team at the moment."
The former Sepang International Circuit chief executive officer had in April said that he planned to start a new Moto3 team next year after receiving a request to do so from a sponsor in Europe.
Razlan had previously served as team principal for the Sepang Racing Team (SRT), which featured MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 squads. He later bought SRT and rebranded it as RNF.
RNF, which Razlan later co-owned with Cryptodata, faced issues late last year and lost their MotoGP grid slots.
