KUALA LUMPUR: MALAYSIA beat Singapore 65-41 today to take back the netball gold at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara.
Netball made its debut in the 2001 KL Games, and Malaysia won the inaugural gold by beating Singapore.
However, two years ago at the Sea Games in Singapore, Malaysia surrendered the gold to the hosts.
This is only the third time that the sport is being held in the Sea Games, with the title returning to Malaysia.
The Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara saw a capacity crowd of 1,000 while 500 more fans without tickets stood outside the stadium.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor were also at the Juara Stadium to cheer the Malaysian team.
