KUALA LUMPUR: National taekwondo exponents settled for a solitary bronze from three kyorugi categories entered at the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games (KL2017) today.
Jasmin Nabila Sukardi was the only Malaysian to reach the semi-final stage at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre where she lost to Indonesian Mariska Halinda in the women's under-53kg class.
Mariska, who is the defending champion in the category, eased to a 15-5 win. Jasmine took bronze in the event as there is no 3rd place playoff for combat sports at KL2017.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, K. Navin suffered a 30-16 defeat at the hands of Vo Quoc Hong of Vietnam in the men's under-54kg while Lian Pei Ying lost 32-7 to Julanan Khantikulon of Thailand in the women's under-46kg class.
