MOTORSPORTS Association of Malaysia (MAM) welcome the idea of building more permanent racing tracks in Malaysia.
MAM president Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir said having more tracks will help create a broader base of talent at the grassroots.
"We will definitely support it. By having more tracks, we will be able to create a greater pool of talent," said Mokhzani.
"From what I understand, the Kedah circuit (project) has already been approved and is in the process of being built.
"It would be great to have more permanent tracks built, especially in the East Coast.
"We will be happy to assist in terms of guidelines or technical expertise for any new tracks."
The Kedah Circuit project in Sungai Petani had hit several speed bumps since it was first announced in 2014 but was able to move into the second phase of construction last year.
