KUALA LUMPUR: Entering the last three days of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China's medal chase has significantly slowed down.
The hosts pulled in only three gold medals today, from men's marathon, and both the men's and women's dragon boat.
China have a total of 322 medals from 174 gold, 95 silver and 53 bronze.
Japan ranked second with 37 gold, 51 silver and 59 bronze for 147 medals while South Korea were a close second with 33 gold, 45 silver and 71 bronze for 149 medals.
Rounding up the top-five were India (20-31-32) and Uzbekistan (16-16-22).
Malaysia came in 16th with three gold, four silver and 16 bronze for a total of 23.
The Malaysian contingent are inching closer to their 27-medal target with confirmed medals in squash (mixed team, women's singles and men's singles).
