KUALA LUMPUR: From a state competition in Ipoh, sprinter Sayyid Amin Roslan has won a ticket to the World Under-20 Junior Championships in Lima, Peru, from Aug 27-31.
Sayyid's winning time of 21.30s in the men's 200m at yesterday's Perak Open met the qualifying time of 21.35 for the world junior meet.

Help University's Yap Chun Wan (22.07) took the silver and bronze respectively.
Sayyid's previous best was 21.54 which he did in the Sea Youth competition in Bangkok to win silver last November.
The 18-year-old from Penang, who took up athletics five years ago, said: It feels really nice to run a personal best of 21.30 and qualify for the World Junior meet."
Coach Shukor Ishak said Sayyid has worked hard and is in high spirit for next month's Asean School Games in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Sabahan Fiross Faizal also qualified for the World Junior meet by posting 13.82 (qualifying mark is 14.20) to win the men's 110m hurdles in the Philippines Open in Pasig City yesterday.
Three other Malaysian male athletes have also qualified for the World Junior meet. They are Hanssen Yap (100m), Pengiran Aidil Auf Hajam ( 100m and 200m) and Ng Tak Sing (triple jump).
