Aaron-Wooi Yik face tricky Olympic quarter-final against Indian pair

By TAN MING WAI

KUALA LUMPUR: Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik will have to seek a winning formula against India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty as the latter stand in their way in the Paris Olympics men's doubles quarter-finals.

In the fresh draw conducted today, world No. 3 Aaron-Wooi Yik have found themselves in the upper half of the draw, which also comprises China's Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang and Indonesia's Fajar Alfian-Muhammad Rian Ardianro.

Aaron-Wooi Yik will probably not fancy a meeting with Satwiksairaj-Chirag, given their poor record against the world No. 5 of late.

Although Aaron-Wooi Yik hold a superior 8-3 lead in the head to head record, it's worth noting that they have lost in all their recent three meetings including the semi-finals of the India Open in January.
