KUALA LUMPUR: Bad weather on Wednesday forced the postponement of the Paris Olympic women's recurve round of 32 battle between Malaysia's Nurul Azreena Fazil and Turkiye's Elif Gokkir.
The match will now take place on Thursday at 7.50pm (Malaysian time) with Azreena hoping to prolong Malaysia's interest in the Olympic archery event after the elimination of her compatriots, Ariana Nur Dania Zairi and Syaqiera Mashayikh, at Esplanade des Invalides.
On Wednesday, Ariana Nur Dania Zairi lost 6-5 to former World Games champion Chiara Rebagliati of Italy in the round of 32.
On Tuesday, Syaqiera narrowly lost 6-5 to Brazil's Ana Luiza Sliachticas Caetano in the round of 16. In the first round, the Johorean, who is competing in her second Olympics, routed Moldova's Alexandra Mirca 6-0.
