LONDON: Jake Paul's manager has put forward a lucrative offer worth more than £15 million (RM84.7 million) to IShowSpeed to step into the ring, following recent comments made by the Internet star.
Paul, a YouTuber turned professional boxer, is currently seeking his next opponent after defeating heavyweight veteran Mike Tyson by unanimous decision in Texas last week.
Since his victory, the 27-year-old rising star has received numerous offers, including one from a fellow social media personality.
Among them is online streamer IShowSpeed, also known as Speed, whose real name is Darren Watkins.
He claimed he could beat Paul with just six months of training.
He said: "If I had six months, all I need is six months (to train).
"If I trained for six months, I could beat any 'monster' in the world.
"I feel like I could beat Jake Paul in a fight. I respect his work ethic, but when I watch him in the ring, he doesn't look that smooth.
"I feel like I could beat him. When you watch (his fights), you can see his weaknesses."
The comments immediately caught the attention of Paul's team, and they wasted no time responding.
Paul's manager, Nakisa Bidarian, quickly addressed the remarks in an Instagram post.
In his post, Bidarian wrote: "Calm down. Tell him I've got $10 million (RM44.7 million) for him right now.
"Sign the contract this week. If he beats Jake, he'll get a $10 million bonus. Sign the deal."
The total offer amounts to $20 million (RM89.42 million) or £15.8 million (RM89.29 million), a figure reportedly similar to what Tyson earned for fighting Paul.
Paul himself later joined the discussion, replying in an Instagram comment with the message: "Speed knows better. My guy's probably just joking around."
