KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian muay thai sensation Johan Ghazali Zulfikar will battle undefeated Colombian star Johan Estupinan in a flyweight bout at ONE 170, at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on Jan 24.
Johan, known as Jojo, will be seeking his seventh victory in eight appearances in the ONE Championship.
However, the 18-year-old sensation will face an uphill battle against the 22-year-old Estupinan, aka "Panda Kick," as the Colombian boasts a perfect 25-0 record and four consecutive wins in ONE Championship, including three by KO.
Representing Rentap Muaythai Gym, Johan aims to continue making Malaysia proud on the world's largest martial arts stage.
"Fans can expect an extraordinary and entertaining fight. This will be an action-packed clash of youth," Johan told Berita Harian.
In his most recent ONE Championship bout, Jojo bounced back from a loss to Vietnam's Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat with a stunning knockout victory over Mexico's Josue Cruz at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, in September.
The victory not only improved his ONE Championship fight record to 6-1 but also earned him a performance bonus of US$50,000 (RM222,000).
In February last year, Johan made a sensational debut, knocking out Thailand's Padestuk Fairtex in just 16 seconds at ONE Friday Fights 6.
