FOR many car owners, taking excellent care of their vehicles from top to bottom offers an optimal driving experience.
From maintenance to cleanliness, it is important to keep regular tabs on the car's condition to ensure it is in great working order.
Unfortunately, keeping cars clean from the inside can be tricky, especially when it comes to the dirt and sand that gets tracked into the vehicle from the driver's shoes as well as passengers.
Since car mats are responsible for keeping the car floors clean from grime, dirt and moisture, it's a good practice to ensure that they are of good quality and hygienic in nature.
Trapo, an automotive accessories brand, recognises the common problems that come with regular car mats and offer alternative solutions that are safe, hygienic and comfortable.
Founded in June 2016 by brothers Zare Lee and Tzong Lee, Trapo's new stylish car mats include the Second Generation Trapo Hex II, Trapo Classic Mark 3 and Trapo Eco II.
ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY & RECYCLABLE
As the parent company of Trapo, Supreme specialises in manufacturing EVA foam for commercial, industrial and construction use, which results in 300 tonnes of waste foam that needs to be recycled per year.
Trapo ingeniously makes use of the waste by incorporating it into their car mats, which are made from 20 per cent waste material and 80 per cent raw material. Aside from black, these mats also come in grey and brown colour.
For each standard size of a Trapo car mat, about 12 RPET (recycled polyethylene tetraphyte) bottles are used to form the car mat's lining. They come in various colours such as red, black, blue, grey, and they've recently introduced new colours such as brown and dark green.
Aside from being kinder to the environment, its design with deep grooves allows it to trap dirt and mud easily.
Since it is waterproof, not only does it do a better job of keeping car interiors dry, it also makes it easier to clean and dry within 15 minutes.
Car owners will be glad to know that Trapo's car mats do not carry that strong plastic smell, which is usually present in PVC coil mats. This type of smell is often overwhelming and headache-inducing, hence why Trapo's car mats may be a better option than coil mats.
Plus, its Anti-Slip technology ensures that it won't move around while driving and entering or exiting the car.
TRAPO HEX II
While the Trapo Hex is already durable against wear and tear, the Trapo Hex II is now 10 times more durable, making it a major improvement.
It uses FIX, a separate anti-slip system from the rest of the car mats. This feature provides a better anti-slip performance with less damage to the car's floor.
The best part about this mat is that it is capable of *eliminating 99.99 per cent of bacteria with a simple rinse of water. This is because it comes equipped with Bactekiller, an antibacterial agent from Japanese patented silver ion technology.
To further build upon their green business practises, Trapo is upgrading the metal plate from the previous generation Hex to a new rice husk plate, which not only looks better, but is also more environmentally-friendly.

TRAPO CLASSIC MARK 3
Similar to the Trapo Hex II, this mat can *eliminate 99.99 per cent of bacteria once rinsed with water.
With its deodorising mechanism, this car mat does not have that unpleasant rubber smell, and since it is easy to clean, there will be no bad odours.
The Trapo Classic Mark 3 has an improved anti-slip function with the Trapo Velcro 2.0.

TRAPO ECO II
Being the most affordable out of the rest, the Trapo Eco II is easy to clean and it helps hide dust.
The flexible padding is an add-on feature, and can be placed anywhere on the mat and users can easily remove it with their fingers.
