KUALA LUMPUR: Two Singapore ministers announced today that they will take legal action against Bloomberg over an article published on December 12, which they described as a 'libellous' report.
According to Bernama, Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam and Manpower Minister Dr Tan See Leng, in separate Facebook posts, said they will issue a letter of demand against Bloomberg over the report on their property dealings.
"We will also take similar action against others who publish defamatory statements related to this matter.
"We take these accusations seriously," the ministers wrote in their Facebook posts today.
The article titled "Singapore Mansion Deals Are Increasingly Shrouded in Secrecy," published by Bloomberg, detailed how wealthy individuals in Singapore secretly purchase luxury bungalows.
The article also touched on property dealings allegedly involving both ministers.
