IPOH: Affin Bank Bhd will launch a number of new projects, including in the field of digital information technology, next year at the latest in the quest to build a more dynamic image for itself, its Chief Executive Officer, Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Jamil said.
“We will also be launching Internet banking and mobile Internet banking. God willing, we will be introducing various types of offers in terms of digital and Internet (banking),” he said.
He was speaking at the launch of Affin Bank’s 108th branch in the country at Meru Raya City, here today, by Affin Bank Chairman Gen (R) Tan Sri Dr Zahidi Zainuddin.
Kamarul Ariffin said Affin Bank would also be launching its first digital outlet, using a cashless system, at MyTOWN shopping mall in Jalan Cochrane, Cheras, in August.
On Affin Bank’s Bandar Meru Raya branch, he said it was the third outlet in Ipoh after Greentown Business Centre and Ipoh Garden, and the seventh in Perak.
He said the double-storey office branch was strategically located in Medan Meru Bestari, a trade and tourism centre in the state.
“The branch offers comprehensive conventional banking and Islamic banking products and services, encompassing all types of deposit accounts and remittances to meet the demands of the people in this rapidly-developing city,” he said.
The branch’s main target is Bandar Meru Raya residents, comprising civil servants, private sector employees, businessmen and students, he said, adding that it would also tapped into business potential to spur its growth in retail banking and businesses.
