Syarul wants to join training bubble to prepare for Vietnam

Bodybuilder Syarul Azman Mike Mahen wants to be part of a training bubble to build muscles ahead of this year's assignments.

Syarul is in a fix as gyms are not allowed to operate in Movement Control Order (MCO states.

The 48-year-old, who resides in Kuala Lumpur, hopes to resume training next month as he wants to prepare for the Vietnam Sea Games on Nov 21-Dec 2.

The Sea Games is one of the four-time world champion's targets, although his weight category is not part of the event.

"I want to join the training bubble at the National Sports Council in Bukit Jalil," said Syarul on Friday.

"Bodybuilding is a unique sport, and one cannot train at home if he does not have enough equipment. As a bodybuilder, I need the gym to build muscles.

"The Vietnam Games offers a gold in the open category, so I need to tone my body accordingly as I will be going against bigger-built bodybuilders."

Syarul also plans to compete in the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Championships in the Maldives and the World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships in Kazakhstan later this year.
