KUMPULAN Medic Iman Sdn Bhd (KMI Healthcare) says its wholly owned subsidiary, KMI Tawau Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (KMITMC), has entered into a binding term sheet with Tawau Healthcare Sdn Bhd (THSB) to develop and upgrade medical infrastructure in Tawau, Sabah.

The proposal features the construction of a new specialist hospital building, designed to significantly expand the range of medical services offered at KMI Tawau Medical Centre.

This new block will enable the hospital to cater to a broader spectrum of healthcare needs, enhancing its capacity to deliver specialised medical care. With modern infrastructure and advanced facilities, the new building aims to meet the evolving expectations of patients and the growing demand for high-quality healthcare in Tawau.

Additionally, the proposal includes extensive renovation works for the existing building, aimed at improving patient care and optimising operational efficiency.

These upgrades will modernise the current facility, ensuring seamless integration with the new block while creating a more comfortable and efficient environment for patients and staff alike.

This development reflects the strong strategic collaboration between KMITMC and THSB, highlighting a shared commitment to elevating healthcare standards in the region.

Dr. Rayney Azmi bin Ali, chief executive officer, said that KMI Healthcare remains focused on its mission to provide quality healthcare services while contributing to the socioeconomic development of the regions it operates in.
