The Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship for the Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) is now open for application until September 27, 2019. Malaysians who would like to pursue their Master’s degree courses in Japan are invited to apply for the scholarships.
The five courses available under YLP are: Master of Business Administration at Hitotsubashi University, Master of Law at Kyushu University, Master in Public Administration or Master in Public Policy at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Master in Public Administration or Master in Public Policy also at GRIPS and Master of Healthcare Administration at Nagoya University.
Course duration is one year, from October 2020 to September 2021 except for Business Administration Course, which is from September 2020 to August 2021. Courses will be conducted in English language.
For Business Administration Course, applicants must: be below 40 years old as of September 1, 2020 and have at least three years working experience in government offices. Those interested to apply for Health Administration Course must have working experience in Ministry of Health Malaysia and for Law Course, at least four years working experience including experience of handling law-related affairs in Malaysia.
During the term of the scholarship, a monthly allowance of approximately 242,000 yen (RM9,600) will be given. Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at universities will be exempted. A round-trip airplane ticket is also provided.
