KUALA LUMPUR: To make it easier for users to differentiate automated from human-run accounts, Twitter introduced a new feature for automated accounts (bots) to self-identify as "good bots" by adding a label (a robot head) to their profile.
Launched as an experiment in September last year, the use of the label is now being expanded globally. All automated accounts will now have the option to add the new label to their account Profile.

The label will give Twitter users additional information about the bot as well as to help users decide which accounts to follow, engage with, and trust. #GoodBots help people stay apprised of useful, entertaining, and relevant information - from fun emoji mashups to breaking news.
There's a whole community of developers that are working hard to build bots that are genuinely useful and interesting and to show support, Twitter will be hosting a series of activations including a Space and live demo for developers.
