KUALA LUMPUR: Former Clever Girl Season 2 contestant Noor Syakirah Mohd Azam offered her apology after causing quite a ruckus when she opted to withdraw from the TV3 reality show mid-season.
The Penangite, known as Kiera, had voiced her remorse via an Instagram post which she uploaded last Saturday, in which she also asked for any negative speculation on the matter be nipped in the bud.
“Let’s all learn from our mistakes. Take the meat and spit out the bones,” the engineering graduate from Oxford University, 27, had written.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to voice my regret to all parties involved, be it directly or indirectly.”
Kiera also stated that her accusatory Instagram posts, which described her contempt towards the Clever Girl production team, had been deleted on the same day it was uploaded.
In the posts, she had condemned them for not running a “clean and fair” game.
“With their removal, I take back what I had said earlier. I also promise to never give any comment regarding my decision to pull out from the show.”
In a more recent Instagram post, Kiera clarified that the Instagram posts were uploaded before she officially left the show and not after as like some quarters had speculated.
“I had posted them on Sept 16. On Sept 18, I had relayed my intentions to withdraw from the show to the Clever Girl team.
“Three days later, on Sept 21, I was given the official letter that legally released me from any obligation relating to Clever Girl Season 2.”
In a press statement, TV3 had stressed that Kiera’s allegation regarding the Clever Girl production team was false and would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who spread lies about them.
Meanwhile, Kiera also expressed her thanks towards those who have supported her during her stint on Clever Girl.
“I’m glad that my academic success had become an inspiration to many youths, based on the wonderful comments I’ve received on social media.”
Hosted by Alif Satar, Clever Girl Season 2 airs Fridays at 9pm.
