#Showbiz: Andy Lau shows support for Mamat's film

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau Tak Wah surprised director Mamat Khalid by making a visit to Malaysia specially to give his support to blockbuster comedy Hantu Kak Limah yesterday.

“Wow! It’s so good that he dropped by. He’s my favourite Hong Kong actor especially in Chungking Express,” said Mamat.

The director revealed that he was currently working on the script for a fourth film of the Rock series titled Rock 4: Rockers Live Forever with a brand new cast.

“It’ll be out next year and some of the stars from the past Rock films will have guest appearances.

“And for Chinese New Year 2019 I’ve got Manap Karaoke which is very 1970s and stars Joey Daud.”

Lau, nicknamed the Heavenly King of Cantopop, was the special guest at a dinner to celebrate the comedy’s killing of RM40 million at the box office over the last 27 days.

Lau who is the co-founder of Hantu Kak Limah’s co-producer Infinitus Entertainment made a brief speech at the dinner in Berjaya Times Square Hotel today.

“I’m so happy to collaborate with you guys and hope to work with all of you again,” said Lau who was accompanied by Infinitus chairman Datuk Seri Robin Tan.

The main cast comprising Datuk Awie, Zul Ariffin, Ropie, Imuda, Sherwani, Mus of May and Delimawati also attended the dinner.
