#Showbiz: Indonesia surpasses Malaysia, screening 'Avengers: Endgame' as early as 5am

KUALA LUMPUR: The much-awaited Marvel action film Avengers: Endgame opens a week from now, and fans will get to see Stan Lee’s iconic superheroes much earlier than usual.

Neighbouring Indonesia appears to be the “early bird” of the region, for 12 Cinemaxx cinemas there will be screening the blockbuster at 5am on April 24, and this means these cinemas will screen the Marvel adventure for 24 hours.

Back home, instead of the usual midnight screenings, Malaysians will get to catch Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Incredible Hulk among others, as early as 7am that day in selected Golden Screen Cinemas around the country.

Another major cinema chain, Tanjung Golden Village, will screen Avengers: Endgame at 7.30am.

Also, in conjunction with the premiere, Malaysia might once again flash the Avengers symbol from atop its very own Stark Tower — Menara Telekom in Jalan Pantai Baru, Bangsar. Telekom Malaysia, with the support of Marvel Malaysia, did just that on April 26 last year, when Avengers: Infinity War opened.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Marvel Studios, Avengers: Endgame sees the superhero ensemble continue their battle against supervilain Thanos who wiped out half of all life in the universe at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

It stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd and Brie Larson.
