KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of celebrity couple Datuk Farid Kamil and Datin Diana Danielle stand firmly behind them, rain or shine.
Three days ago, they rushed to Diana’s defence and gave one Netizen a sound scolding on Instagram after he called Diana “married to a convict”.
Diana herself also ticked the rude Netizen off, and said: “So what if he’s a convict. I love him just the same.”
The nasty Netizen’s post, which he subsequently removed, was a response to an Instagram photo of Diana which she uploaded last Tuesday.
The photo showed a smiling Diana looking sideways while sitting on the floor backstage after a television drama.
She was stylishly dressed in a brown, long-sleeved shirt and dark blue trousers.
In her caption, Diana, 27, said: “They say once you’re famous you get treated like royalty. But I didn’t even get a chair. Where are my assistants, white flower bouquet and that door with my name on it?”
Among the Netizens who slammed the “hater” was Lin who said: "That person is just jealous of you, Diana. Ignore such toxic people.”
Nor said: “You’re beautiful inside out, Diana. People who talk rubbish will always be around, pay no heed to them.”
Farid, 38, was jailed in Kajang Prison for 35 days beginning May 15 for drug use.
Last Friday, the star of J Revolusi said his jail time was a blessing from God which brought him back to the “straight path”.
The Shah Alam High Court postponed sentencing for Farid's nine-month jail term for drug charges on June 19.
Judge Datuk Ab Karim Ab Rahman allowed Farid’s application for a postponement of sentencing, and ordered him to pay a bail amount of RM10,000 with one surety, and surrender his passport until his trial ended.
The judge also ordered Farid to report himself af the nearest police station to his house every month.
On May 15, the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court sentenced Farid to nine months’ jail for drug abuse.
Farid was charged with using THC drugs at the narcotics office of the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at 4.30pm on Jan 11, last year.
The offence falls under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and carries a maximum two years’ imprisonment or a RM5,000 fine or both upon conviction.
Farid is facing two charges of causing hurt, one of using criminal force and one of indecent behaviour at the Kota Damansara police station.
On Jan 16 last year, Farid pleaded not guilty to two charges of voluntarily causing hurt to an accounts executive, Ashraf Ahmad, 35, and Constable Muhammad Nizam Jamaluddin, 24, at the Kota Damansara police station.
He was also charged with using criminal force on Muhammad Nizam, who was performing his duty as a police officer, and with a fourth count for disorderly conduct by uttering improper words at Nizam at the police station.
