#Showbiz: 'Snowdrop' actress Kim Mi Soo dies

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean actress Kim Mi Soo died yesterday at the age of 31.

According to Soompi, news of her sudden passing was first reported yesterday although the cause of death was not revealed.

A wake for the actress is expected to be held at the Taeneung Sungsim Funeral Home.

Her agency, Landscape Entertainment, had also confirmed the unfortunate news and added that her family was in shock.

"We are relaying sorrowful and heart-breaking news. Kim Mi Soo has suddenly passed away on Jan 5.

"The bereaved family is currently very heartbroken by the sudden mournful news.

"We sincerely ask that you refrain from spreading rumours or speculative reports so that the bereaved family, who are in shock and grief-stricken, can reverently commemorate the deceased.

"As per her family's wishes, the funeral will be held quietly in private," read part of the statement from the agency.

Kim Mi Soo had starred in various K-dramas, including Hellbound, Hi Bye Mama, The School Nurse Files and Yumi's Cells.

Her latest was JTBC's Snowdrop, which had finished filming and is currently airing.
