#Showbiz: Release of 'Thor: Love And Thunder' postponed

KUALA LUMPUR: Chris Hemsworth's best known big screen character, Thor will only be returning to Malaysian cinemas on July 21 instead of next Thursday.

A statement from leading cinema chain Golden Screen Cinemas on its Instagram page today said that the release date had been delayed due to unforseen circumstances and cinema-goers who have purchased tickets in advance would be refunded.

"Please be informed that the release date for Marvel Studios' Thor: Love And Thunder in Malaysia has been postponed to July 21, 2022 by Disney.

"Those who have purchased advance tickets will be fully refunded. If you have purchased the tickets online, the amount will be refunded to you within 14 working days. No further action is required from your end," said the statement.

"If you have purchased your tickets at the counter or e-kiosk, please return to the respective cinema and claim your refund within 14 days. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Thor: Love And Thunder which is produced by Disney subsidiary Marvel Studios is the direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017).

Directed by Taika Waititi, it stars Hemsworth as Thor alongside Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Waititi, Russell Crowe, and Natalie Portman.

In the film, Thor attempts to find inner peace, but must return to action and recruit Valkyrie (Thompson), Korg (Waititi) and Jane Foster (Portman) — who is now the Mighty Thor — to stop Gorr the God Butcher (Bale) from eliminating all gods.
