#Showbiz: Jack White to rock Malaysia in maiden November concert

KUALA LUMPUR: American singer-songwriter Jack White will be performing for the first time in Malaysia at Zepp KL here on November 16.

The 12-time Grammy winner and founding member of rock outfits The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, will be in town in conjunction with his Jack White: The Supply Chain Issues Tour.

White's Malaysian stop is part of the Asian leg of his tour, which will see the rocker in action in six cities across Asia this November including Seoul, Bangkok and Singapore.

White who founded the record label Third Man Records, released his fourth and fifth solo studio albums Fear Of The Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive earlier this year, which includes the new singles Taking Me Back and Entering Heaven Alive.

In addition to writing global anthems such as The White Stripes' Seven Nation Army and The Raconteurs' Steady, As She Goes, all three of White's acclaimed previously released solo albums, namely 2012's Blunderbuss, 2014's Lazaretto and 2018's Boarding House Reach, debuted at No.1 on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 as well as a variety of other charts.

Boarding House Reach was praised by NME as, "wild, mysterious and unlike anything else around...a full, lush sounding thing packed with personality and life."

Rolling Stone wrote that, "the spirit of freaky free-play is thrilling and refreshing, a worthy end unto itself. Like nearly all of White's work, it manages to feel fresh, original, and still deeply rooted in history."
