KUALA LUMPUR: The third season of popular children's spy adventure computer-generated TV series Ejen Ali won Best 3D Animated Programme at the prestigious 27th Asian Television Awards held in Singapore recently.
Produced in partnership between Primeworks Studios, WAU Animation and Disney+ Hotstar, Ejen Ali: Season 3 was a significant milestone due to its success with local fans but also because it attracted new Southeast Asian viewers after its debut on Disney+ Hotstar this year.
"This achievement is something that needs to be celebrated. Ejen Ali has done an outstanding job for this third season, and we are thrilled with its achievements.
"The support that we received from the viewers and, of course, the loyal fans of Ejen Ali themselves keeps us motivated and encourages us to produce and come up with new ideas.
"Many thanks to WAU Animation, especially Wauriors, and Disney+ Hotstar for giving us the opportunity to co-produce and broaden our platform for Ejen Ali Season 3," said Media Prima Television Networks and Primeworks Studios CEO Datuk Khairul Anwar Salleh.
He added: "Keep supporting our local animation industry and stay tuned for more high-quality content from our creative teams."
"Our Media Prima Television Networks family is also extremely proud of two more of our programmes being nominated for the 27th Asian Television Awards, which are My Dream My Wish for Best Single Drama or Telemovie (8TV) and Women Talk for Best Talk Show Programme (TV3)," he said.
Ejen Ali: Season 3 was released on Disney+ Hotstar on June 25 and is a continuation of Ejen Ali: The Movie.
The more in-depth story revolves around Ejen Ali, who had to continue his tasks at the MATA Arena without the help of IRIS.
Determined to follow his mother's footsteps as a champion, Ali then faces the challenge of going against slick and resilient international agents at the arena.
The evil Numeros also returns to defeat MATA and the futuristic city of Cyberaya.
Ejen Ali: Season 3 is still available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
