#Showbiz: BTS fans excited to see Jin's army photos

KUALA LUMPUR: BTS fans, better known as Army, are delighted to view photos of the K-Pop group's first member to undergo military service, Kim Seok-Jin.

Entertainment portal Allkpop reported recently that Jin, 32, began military service on Dec 13 and 10 days later, some photos of Jin from his army base in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi province made their way to social media.

These photos of Jin undergoing military training were uploaded on The Camp, a website for soldiers' families to stay in touch with them.

One of these photos was an identification photo, with a short-haired Jin showing off a gentle smile for the camera.

An overwhelmed BTS fan wrote in the comments section of The Camp, "All the best Jin. Missing you!"

Another fan said, "Stay strong, Jin. You look tired."

Jin's mandatory military service will last 18 months. BTS' agency Big Hit recently released a statement cautioning fans against visiting the training camp.

The statement said, "Due to the nature of the venue, we ask for your understanding that there is no waiting space for reporters and fans. The agency will continue to support Jin until the day he fulfils his military service and returns in good health. Thank you."

Jin is attached to the Republic of Korea Army's Fifth Infantry Division, and fans have been allowed to send letters to the army's online community, The Camp, until Jan 17.
