#Showbiz: 2PM's Taecyeon signs with US-based agency WME

KUALA LUMPUR: Member of K-pop band 2PM, Taecyeon has signed with American talent agency WME (William Morris Endeavor).

In a Soompi report today, the artiste's Korean agency 51K was the one responsible in revealing the good news.

The 34-year-old artiste whose full name is Ok Taec-yeon will now join WME's list of star-studded international celebrities which include director Quentin Tarantino, director Ridley Scott, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Holland, Michael B. Jordan, director Park Chan-wook, director Bong Joon-ho, and Bae Doona.

Soompi quoted a statement from 51K which read: "We are happy that Taecyeon, who has been expanding his reach as an actor thorough various projects including Vincenzo, Hansan: Rising Dragon, and Blind, signed a formal agent contract with WME…Please continue to cheer on Taecyeon's activities in the future."

The report also quoted the star as saying: "I'm excited and happy to take on a new challenge. I talked a lot with the local agency.

"Although it will not be easy to take on a new challenge in an unfamiliar environment, I think it is a good opportunity to learn a lot."

He added: "I will work hard to show another side of me as well as new charms of Ok Taecyeon on a broader stage."

Currently, Taecyeon is gearing up to star in KBS2's upcoming vampire drama My Heart Is Beating alongside South Korean actress Won Ji-An.
