KUALA LUMPUR: The Shah Alam Lower Syariah Court today decided that actor Hafidz Roshdi, 28, and Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri, 28, were divorced with a single talak.
According to a news report, the court had decided that the divorce pronouncement made on Feb 22 this year was valid.
The report also quoted Hafidz as saying that he was grateful that the divorce proceedings ended without any problem.
"Praise be to God that this divorce case is settled without us ending up in a quarrel. I'm satisfied with the decision made by the judge and respect it fully," he said.
Hafidz also thanked those who respected his privacy and acting career.
Similarly, Nurul Shuhada also felt relieved with the decision, saying she felt like a heavy burden had been lifted off her shoulders.
"I just need to muster strength now to move forward without relying on anyone else but God. Now I just want to focus on myself and the children and hopefully that one day I could further my studies," said Nurul Shuhada who completed her eddah (grieving period for Muslim women post divorce) in April.
Hafidz and Nurul Shuhada married on April 30, 2016. They have two children: Humairah, 6, and Umar, 2.
