#Showbiz: 'Pray that I am cancer-free' — Jasmin Hamid

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Jasmin Hamid is going under the knife at a private hospital here today and has urged fans to pray for her well-being.

"I am undergoing surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. Please pray that it will go smoothly and that I am cancer-free," said Jasmin in an Instagram post yesterday.

Jasmin, who turns 51 today, said that the cyst caused her to suffer from hormonal imbalance and had gained weight in the process.

"Over the past few months some Netizens claimed that I was not keeping in shape. It was the cyst that caused it," she said, adding that she had forgiven everyone who body-shamed her on social media.

In May last year, Jasmin suffered a heart attack and spent a month in hospital.
