#SHOWBIZ: Millions in debt, Mamat wants to pray for Shuib in Holy Land

PETALING JAYA: Comedian Mamat of Sepah fame wants to pray for the blessing of a child when he sets foot in the Holy Land with his friend, Shuib of Sepahtu fame, on the third day of Aidilfitri.

Mamat, whose real name is Mohd Noor Murad, said he was hoping to be blessed with twins after five years of marriage with his wife, Nordiana Ibrahim.

"When I set foot in the Holy Land, this is one of the prayers I will pray. May Allah make it easy for me and my wife to have children."

"It's not that you can't pray back home here, but there are miraculous places in the Holy Land where you can pray. I hope to have twins, because I'm 40 years old.

"Even if God gives me quintuplets, I will accept it, Alhamdulillah. I am not afraid of the economic situation or of time, but I will just go with what God has given me," he said.

Mamat said that he had been ready to have children for a long time, but had not been blessed with rezeki.

"From the first day of marriage, I was ready to be a father, but at that time, we were facing the Movement Control Order (MCO) phase. I got married a week before the MCO.

"I accepted it with resignation because I realised we didn't have much time together due to busy work. "Sometimes we came back at night and in the morning. I put it in the back burner because I didn't want to disturb my wife's mental health.

"However, I have to think positively now that we've been married for five years. God wants to give us time to go 'dating' for longer."

"Maybe this is an opportunity together because there may not be time to be happy when you have children.

"My wife understands this, but no matter what, she still wants children, especially seeing that other family members have already had children.

"So, I say 2025 is the best year to have children," he said.

Previously, Mamat and Nordiana tied the knot in March 2020 after getting engaged in 2018.

Meanwhile, Mamat said he also wanted to pray for all of the difficulties Shuib was going through to be eased.

"Apart from praying for children, I also want to pray that my life and Shuib's will go smoothly. Shuib is going through a lot of trials and tribulations right now.

"He once said that if only he could go to sleep without knowing that he owed tens of millions. He's just a village boy who had nothing and never thought he could owe this much," he said.
