Marks & Spencer organises cooking workshops to empower home cooks

British retailer Marks & Spencer has teamed up with culinary studio TCH Foodworks for a series of cooking workshops to help food lovers master the simple art of home cooking.

Titled Cook with M&S, the workshops aim to inspire creativity and help cooks improve their skills, from preparing quick bites to big bakes. Each workshop will feature two recipes developed by TCH Foodworks founding partner chef Collin Edward Lim and his team.

The recipes are mostly healthy and easy, curated to allow you to experiment with the newly expanded Cook with M&S range of ingredients ranging from sauces and seasonings to pastes and more.

Lim keeps the recipes simple and healthy. "These sauces have seasonings in them, so you don't have to add any more salt to your dishes," he says during a media session held last week.

He says he understands that the point of cooking at home is to prepare healthy food and both recipes he taught during the session, the Playful Wrap n' Go and Sweet Chilli Prawns With Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Papardelle are good examples.

Other recipes that will be taught during the workshops are Honey Glazed Korean Fried Chicken, Fajita Chicken Burrito Bowl, Chipotle Steak Poke with Cauliflower Rice and Mango Salsa, Espresso Chocolate Tiramisu with Chocolate Coated Ginger Snaps and Spicy Tuna Pie.

"I love how M&S has an extensive range of cooking ingredients. We are very excited to partner with them for this cooking workshop and we hope the community can come together to learn to cook and whip up a meal in no time at home for their family and friends," Lim says.

The Cook with M&S Workshops will be available to the public every Saturday in October, starting from the Oct 10. Each workshop is priced at RM88 but members of TCH Foodworks will be entitled for a special price of RM78.

Each participant will receive a RM100 worth of M&S goodie bag and fresh ingredients required for the workshop.
