Three dead, one injured in Seremban crash

SEREMBAN: Three people were killed and one left seriously injured after a five-vehicle crash along Jalan Rantau - Sungai Gadut, here last night.

The five vehicles involved were a Honda Accord, Perodua Kancil, Proton Gen 2, Proton Waja and Honda City.

The three deceased were identified as R Periasamy, 55, who was in the Kancil; and R. Yakesh, 21, and Y Kamalraj, 21, both passengers in the Accord.

L. Ruben, 21, another passenger in the Accord, was injured in the incident.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Zaki Harun said the accident is believed to have started when the driver of Accord lost control his vehicle and collided with the Kancil coming from the opposite direction.

Zaki said the collision caused the Accord to spin several times before ramming into three other cars - the Gen 2, the Waja and the City, parked at the roadside.

"The drivers of the three vehicles managed to escape unharmed.

"However, police are still unable to detect the Accord's driver, believed to be a man," he said.

He said all remains were brought to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital for a post-mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by dangerous driving
