1-2-KNOW: Drone in your pocket

THE Wingsland S6 is a mini drone that can be carried around in a bag or a large pocket. It boasts four foldable motor arms and a thin body. When in compact form, the S6’s dimensions is roughly the same as that of the iPhone 6 Plus. Users can shoot great looking images in detail with its 13MP low distortion camera. The entire drone, including its 26.8mm thin body, weighs a mere 230g.

Being the world’s thinnest 4K drone is a surefire bragging point whenever you pull it out of your pocket. With half a dozen colours to choose from, the Wingsland S6 mini drone will never be boring. To further enhance its capabilities, you can attach different functional accessories via its extended port that is located on the upper shell of the S6. So far, three fun compatible modules have been developed: A toy gun, a searchlight and an emoji display screen.

Further down the road, Wingsland will roll out an all-around obstacle avoidance module. A powerful piloting app will allow you full control of the Wingsland S6, and other mainstream drone features such as intelligent orientation control, auto return home, follow me and one-key takeoff/landing are also part of the deal. The Wingsland S6 mini drone will begin shipping worldwide within this year for US$350 (RM1,412).

EXPERIENCE VR

THE PopUp Viewer from Powis Parker is a compact, high quality viewer that has been aggressively priced to make the VR experience accessible when it comes to marketing campaigns, large events, trade shows/conferences, sporting events, and concerts.

Using the PopUp Viewer is a snap — users only have to place their compatible smartphone into it to engage with the VR content within, allowing them access to various smartphone apps, websites, and even YouTube videos, among others.

To boost the PopUp Viewer’s viability at a special event, it can be custom “skinned” with any type of branding, graphics or messaging. If you are an events organiser who loves the PopUp Viewer idea, you might want to make sure that your guests use smartphones that are between 4 inch to 6.5 inch in size, and run on Android or iOS platforms. This rules Windows Phone users out of the equation.

When compressed, the PopUp Viewer measures 8.2 inch x 1.3 inch x 3.25 inch but is 8 inch x 2.9 inch x 9.65 inch when fully expanded. The PopUp Viewer virtual reality viewer will retail at US$14.99 apiece, although large customised orders will cost less than US$10 each.
