TNB substation explodes, technician severely injured

TELUK INTAN: A Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) technician was seriously injured when an electric substation he was working on exploded.

The incident occurred behind the Bagan Datoh Community College near Hutan Melintang.

Hutan Melintang Fire and Rescue Department chief Tuan Soh Tuan Lah said they were alerted to the incident at 12.18pm.

“The victim, identified as Mohd Zaid Sulaiman, suffered serious injuries," he said.

Mohd Zaid was taken to the Teluk Intan Hospital.

"The fire at the substation was put out by the victim's colleague," he said.
