Johor woman dies after being yanked into industrial dough mixer

JOHOR BARU: A 42-year-old woman died instantly after she was pulled into an industrial dough mixer at a cake factory in Permas Jaya, here this afternoon.

The woman, identified as Noridah Nazir, from Kota Tinggi, had worked as a dough mixer in the factory since December 2011.

It is learnt that prior to the incident, Noridah was busy at work when her right hand somehow became entangled in the mixer.

The force of the mixer then dragged her into the machine, killing her instantly.

Johor Baru Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh said the authorities were alerted to the incident at 12.43pm.

She was already dead by the time rescuers arrived on the scene shortly after.

“There was no evidence of foul play," Sulaiman said, adding that the case is still under investigation.
