Musa Hassan lodges police report against RPK, mulls civil suit

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan has lodged a police report against blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin and online news portal Malaysia Today.

Musa said that instead of retracting and apologising for his articles, the blogger has continued writing more allegations, which left him with no choice but to lodge a police report.

“What Raja Petra wrote in four of his articles published in Malaysia Today has defamed me and former Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail,” Musa told reporters at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters today.

Musa said the four articles published in Malaysia Today, dated Dec 12, 15 and 21, were slanderous and the police report was lodged against all four articles.

The four articles are titled 'Gani Patail and Musa Hassan going to be crucified tomorrow', 'How Mukhriz is going to become PM', 'Former IGP Musa Hassan should be investigated for links with the underworld', and 'Musa Hassan, the evidence is stacked against you'.

“I will consult my lawyer on whether to file a civil suit,” he said.

He hoped the police would conduct a thorough investigation on the blogger’s accusations and take action.

“He (Raja Petra Kamarudin) is trying to affect my credibility with the false accusations,” Musa said.
