Half-naked police inspector caught in women's toilet at Kedah mall, using syabu

ALOR STAR: A police inspector was found clad only in his underpants inside a women’s toilet at a shopping mall here early yesterday morning.

The 32-year-old, attached with Kedah police's Integrity and Standard Compliance Department, was also in possession of a crystal-like substance believed to be syabu, weighing about 0.62 grams.

A Kota Star mobile police patrol unit went to the mall after receiving information that a man was causing a disturbance at the location.

Upon arriving on the scene at 12.30am, they found the half-naked man inside the toilet on the fourth floor of the mall. He was immediately detained.

“Urine tests conducted later on the man tested positive for methamphetamine,” Kedah police chief Datuk Asri Yusof said.

“We are still investigating how and why the man was found in such state inside the toilet,” he said.

He added that police have obtained a seven-day remand order on the suspect to facilitate an investigation under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

In the meantime, a video of the incident had gone viral on social media since Monday morning.

In the video, the woman was heard saying that the man had taken a photograph of her while she was in the toilet.

She claimed the man called her a transgender and touched her.

She was also overheard of telling the person who recorded the video that the man was naked when he took her photograph. He was believed to have put on his underpants when the video was taken.
