KUCHING: Police nabbed 39 people during 29 raids against illegal gambling throughout the state yesterday.
The operations were carried out in 11 districts throughout the state, included Saratok, Sri Aman and Limbang.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Chief Datuk Dev Kumar said the suspect, aged between 18 and 51-year-old, included six foreigners.
"We conducted twenty six raids against illegal 4D, which resulted in the arrests of 27 people.
We also seized mobile phones, portable printers, calculators, betting slips and stationeries, and cash amounting to RM5,301," he said in a statement here today.
Apart from illegal 4D, three raids were conducted by teams from the CID headquarters at cyber gambling outlets in Kuching, Padawan and Kota Samarahan that resulted in the arrests of nine people, and seizure of 16 tablets and cash amounting to RM7,441.
All the suspect are being investigated for offences under the Common Gaming House Act 1953 and Immigration Act.
