KUALA LUMPUR: Three men who had consulted a monk to change their luck, ended up kidnapping the man when things didn’t go as how they were promised.
Now, their fate is sealed as the trio aged between 31 and 40, have been arrested for kidnapping.
City police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa said the men had sought the service of the Indian monk to change their fate.
“However, the victim was said to have failed in his promises. As a result, the three suspects decided to abduct him on in order to seek ransom to cover for the cost.
The suspects were detained at Sungai Pelek, Sepang, at 4.40pm on Oct 18.
“The case is being investigated under Section 326 and Section 365 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, and kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person,” he told reporters when met at High Profile Policing programme at Taman OUG, here, today.
It was reported that the victim was rescued by the police three days after he was abducted in Kepong on Oct 15.
On a separate case, Rusdi said the police were still conducting a thorough investigation into the loss of RM2 million worth of jewellery that took place at Jalan Masjid India on Oct 18.
“Before this, we had detained two men were at the location of the jewellery before the items were reported missing. However, they were released within 24 hours after given their statement.
“The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft,” he said, adding that the jewellery had not been discovered until now.
In the 2pm incident, the victim believed to be a gold dealer was said to have stopped at a goldsmith shop and discovered that the items placed in a Mazda CX-Crossover had disappeared.
