Police investigating Unduk Ngadau contestant's molest case

KOTA KINABALU: Police will conduct a thorough investigation following a report of Unduk Ngadau contestant who claimed she was molested by a committee member of the pageant contest.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said they would be calling the complainant to have her statement recorded to assist in the investigation.

He added the investigation would be held transparently.

"The probe will not take into account anyone's background including those who are being accused.

"Regardless of who the person is, the law will be enforced as no one is above the law. We will proceed with the investigation," he said during a press conference at the state police headquarters here.

Hazani added the investigation result would be handed to the attorney-general's office for further action.

Since yesterday, a police report dated May 21 has gone viral in the social media and WhatsApp group about an Unduk Ngadau contestant who was allegedly molested by the committee member.
