PASIR MAS: A labourer was arrested in possession of 800 methamphetamine pills worth about RM8,000 early today.
Pasir Mas district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nasaruddin Md Nasir said the suspect was detained in a raid at Kampung Gual Pasong Hantu near Rantau Panjang.
"A police party raided a house in the village at about 2am and after raiding the place, they saw a man lying on a sofa in the living room.
"Checks in the house uncovered 800 pills," he said in a statement.
Nasaruddin said initial investigation showed that the pills were smuggled into the state from Thailand.
"Initial investigation also revealed that the 22-year-old suspect with five previous records, had obtained the pills from a drug pusher known as 'Mat Yie'.
"The pills are believed to be for distribution to local addicts," he said.
During the raid, he said police also seized a motorcycle.
He said the suspect who tested positive for drug use, was being held for further action.
