Gua Musang police tracking down couple in viral assault video

GUA MUSANG: Police are working to identify the couple featured in a viral video that showed one of them being assaulted.

District police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo urged those with information on the incident to come forward and assist police investigation.

He said for now, all police station chiefs in the district have been tasked to track down the duo based on the available information in the video.

He said the one minute and 47 second-long footage, which was uploaded on Facebook last Thursday, showed a man beating up a woman with a helmet.

The woman appeared to be enduring the pain and not fighting back when she was scolded, slapped and hit.

A caption on the video claimed the incident occurred along the Kota Baru-Gua Musang highway near Felda Paloh 2.

"So far, no police report has been lodged. The date and time of the incident have not been determined," he said in a statement.
