KUALA LUMPUR: Police are searching for an individual who caused injuries to two people by playing with fireworks in Kampung Changkat, Gombak on March 31.
Gombak district acting police chief Supt Noor Ariffin Mohamad said an investigation was launched after a viral video of the incident emerged.
The footage, he said, showed a group playing with fireworks in front of a house.
"Investigations revealed that at 12.05am on March 31, a man aged 19 and a woman aged 24 suffered injuries to their thigh and ear.
"The suspect responsible for causing the injuries is currently being tracked down," Noor Ariffin said in a statement yesterday (April 8).
He said the case was being investigated under Section 435/324 of the Penal Code, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means, and committing mischief by fire or any explosive substance with the intent to cause damage.
