KUALA LUMPUR: A man has been arrested for damaging and burning Pakatan Harapan (PH) flags and banners in Taman Damai, Batu Arang, near here, yesterday.
Selangor state police chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that a total of 67 police reports were received yesterday, with two investigation papers opened under Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 435 of the Penal Code.
He mentioned that the police also arrested a man under Section 435 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.
"Meanwhile, 65 police reports have been classified as NOD (no offence disclosed), which means that there was no offence reported and no arrests made.
"These police reports were filed by the Ops Cantas team that conducted the Ops Cantas state election inspection in Selangor," he stated in a press release today.
He added that a total of 276 permitted campaigns were held yesterday, with three without permits and 105 permitted speeches.
Hussein emphasised that all candidates should ensure that party flags, banners, and posters are not placed on government premises, fences or places of worship.
"In addition, it is advised not to place them on traffic lights and intersections that could obstruct the view of road users," he added.
