KUALA LUMPUR: Police have discovered the body of a baby girl near Surau Al-Hidayah in Kampung Melayu Pekan Rawang, Selangor.
Gombak district police chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the infant's body was found at 2.36pm today in the surau's compound.
"Initial investigations revealed the baby, dressed in a white outfit ... and wrapped in a blanket, still had her umbilical cord attached.
"No identification was found with the baby," he said in a statement today,
The body has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth by secret disposal of the body.
Ariffin also urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about it to come forward.
