[UPDATED] Police arrest 5th suspect linked to nightclub incident

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested another suspect in connection with the incident where a pickup truck and a car were captured on video ploughing into a group of people outside a nightclub on Jalan Klang Lama.

City Deputy Police Chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said they were also looking for three others in connection with the incident.

"In total, we have arrested five suspects so far following raids in Banting.

"All of them have prior records," he said.

He said two people were injured in the incident and were taken to hospital for further treatment.

Azry urged the suspects who are still at large to surrender immediately.

"All the suspects arrested will be remanded to assist with further investigation," he said in a statement.

The three wanted individuals are Devindran Muniandy (last known address: No. 80, Taman Seri Bayu Morib, Banting), Ranjith Maniyarasu (Lot 307, Jalan Raba, Banting), and Lavindran Muniandy (No. 22, Lorong Raja Nala 12, Taman Intan, Kapar).

The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code.

It was reported that the incident stemmed from an argument between two groups while they were partying.

In the video, which went viral yesterday, a Toyota Hilux and a Toyota Vios are seen speeding before veering into the path of a group outside the building.

Moments later, the two vehicles are seen driving against the flow of traffic before attempting to ram into the same group.

The car is then seen ramming into one person.

Both drivers make a third attempt to ram into the group, with the car believed to have hit a motorcycle.

The video ends with the truck and car nowhere to be seen.
