Cop: Bones found at Pantai Baru Burok not human remains

KUALA TERENGGANU: The bones discovered at Pantai Batu Burok 2 yesterday have been confirmed as non-human remains.

Kuala Terengganu district police chief Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor said that the findings of the post-mortem concluded that the bones handed over by the police were not human remains.

The post-mortem was conducted between 9am and 11am today at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital's (HSNZ) forensic unit.

"This conclusion was made based on differences in shape, thickness and length, as well as the fact that they do not match any human skeletal structure."

He added that DNA samples from the bones would be sent to the Chemistry Department for further analysis to determine if a genetic profile could be obtained.
