Police hunting two foreign men for stabbing, robbing employers in Beluran

BELURAN: Police are searching for two foreign men who stabbed and robbed a father and son, also their employers, at the victims' private plantation in Kampung Napagang Entilibon, Tongod, yesterday (Feb 1).

The victim, aged 50, and his 23-year-old son, were stabbed with sharp objects and are currently receiving treatment at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan.

Beluran police chief Superintendent Hasan Majid said police received a report from the victim's wife, stating that her husband and son had been stabbed with a sharp object believed to be a palm oil fruit harvester around 3pm at their plantation.

"Initial investigations revealed the incident occurred at the victim's private plantation. Both suspects, who were also the victim's employees, have been identified.

"The suspects are Indonesian nationals named Anuar, aged in his 40s, and Saril, in his 20s," he said when contacted today.

Hasan added that the two suspects fled the scene after injuring the father and son, stealing the victim's white pickup truck with the registration number SAB7801P.

"In addition, items belonging to the victims, including important documents, mobile phones, and wallets, were also stolen."

The victims, who sustained injuries to their bodies, back, arms, and thighs, are receiving further treatment at the hospital, he added.

Police are investigating the matter under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for robbery.

He also urged members of the public to cooperate by providing any information related to the incident or the suspects who fled.

"Police are also calling on any witnesses who saw the incident to come forward at the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
