PM expresses condolences on Kuala Krai tragedy

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has expressed his grief over the tragedy which took the lives of seven tahfiz (religious school) students in an accident at Kuala Krai, Kelantan yesterday.

"I am saddened to learn that seven tahfiz students lost their lives in an accident in Kelantan (yesterday) morning. My condolences to their families. Al-Fatihah," said Najib in his official Twitter site last night.

In the 9.40am accident, a van carrying 12 students and two teachers from Maahad Tahfiz Al-Hashimi in Kampung Tualang skidded before crashing into a house at Km55 of Jalan Kuala Krai-Kota Bharu.

Seven students died, while seven others were injured – five of whom are in serious condition. – BERNAMA
