2nd moderate quake strikes Sabah in less than 24 hours

RANAU: A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck here at 11.41am today, moderately rattling residents of Kota Belud.

In a statement, the Meteorology Department said the quake struck at a depth of seven kilometres, 16 kilometres northwest of here.

Local resident Ellicx Manjilim posted in the Department’s official Facebook page that he could feel the tremor.

Netizen Leander Alexander from Kota Belud said he felt “things were moving” while he was seated at the time.

Last night, an earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale hit Sapulut at around 6.13pm. However, it posed no tsunami threat.
